How to install StackScout monitoring agent on your servers
In order to start monitoring your servers, you need to install the monitoring agent. Monitoring agent is a small program that runs in the background on the machines that it's installed on (as a daemon) and sends basic telemetry and measurements to StackScout.
There are two ways in which you can install StackScout monitoring agent: automatic and manual installation.
Automatic installation
By providing SSH access details through our web interface, StackScout will attempt to automatically connect to your server, download and install the monitoring program, configure it using your API key and start in a daemon mode. This is the easiest way to get started, open this page after logging in to StackScout and the wizard will guide you through the process. Keep in mind your server access details are NOT stored anywhere by StackScout and only used temporarily in order to establish an SSH connection. You can read more about automatic monitoring agent installation here.
Manual installation
You can also download, configure and install StackScout monitoring agent yourself, directly on the target machines. We provide CDN download URLs for all supported operating systems and CPU architectures (Linux, macOS, amd64, x86, arm64) and the commands you'll need to execute in the terminal.
